This explains what personal information Sheridan Windows collects, why, who it's shared with, how long it's kept, and your rights. If you have any questions, ring us on 044 9223 931 or email info@sheridanwindows.ie.
Who we are
Sheridan Windows Ltd, Rathgarrett, Tyrrellspass, Co. Westmeath, N91 A4TP. We are responsible for the personal information described here.
What we collect
- When you ask for a quote: your name, phone, email, address, town, county and Eircode, details about the windows or doors you're looking for, any photos you send us, how you heard about us, and whether you'd like updates by WhatsApp.
- When you use the door designer: the details you enter and the door you designed, including a picture of it.
- When you become a customer: the details of your job (measurements, products, prices, dates), notes from our visits, and photos of the work. For SEAI grant jobs we take before and after photos, which record the date, time and location they were taken, because SEAI can ask to see them.
- Payments: we record what you've paid. If you pay by card online, your card details are handled by the payment provider and never seen or stored by us.
- Messages: a record of the emails and WhatsApp messages we send you about your job.
Why we use it
- To reply to you and give you a price, because you asked us to.
- To carry out the work we've agreed: surveys, ordering, fitting and any follow-up visits.
- To meet our legal duties, such as keeping accounting and tax records, and SEAI grant paperwork if you're claiming a grant.
- To send you updates by WhatsApp, only if you've agreed to it. You can stop at any time by replying STOP or telling us.
- To occasionally ask how we did, for example asking for a review after your job is finished. You can ask us not to.
We don't sell your information, and we don't send you marketing or put you on mailing lists.
Who we share it with
Only the companies that help us run the business, and only what they need:
- Our website and office system (Vercel for the website, Supabase for our customer records, stored in the EU).
- Email and WhatsApp services we use to send you messages about your job.
- Palladio / Profile Developments, who provide the door designer. If you send a design from it, they receive it too.
- Our suppliers, the measurements and product details needed to make your windows or doors.
- SEAI, if you're claiming a grant and need us to provide paperwork or photos.
- Our accountant, and anyone we're required to share with by law.
Some of these companies are based outside the EU. Where that's the case, they're covered by the safeguards required under EU data protection law, such as standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries that don't go ahead: deleted after 2 years.
- Customer records: 6 years after your job is finished, which is what tax law requires.
- SEAI grant photos and paperwork: for as long as SEAI requires them to be available for audit.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it or delete it, object to how we use it, or withdraw your consent for WhatsApp updates. Just ring or email us. If you're not happy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Data Protection Commission at dataprotection.ie.
Cookies
We don't use any tracking or advertising cookies, and we don't use analytics that follow you around the web.
- Maps: the map on our contact page comes from Google. It only loads when you tap “Show map”, and Google may then set its own cookies.
- Videos: our video is stored on this website, so nothing loads from YouTube or anyone else.
- Remembering small choices: your browser remembers if you've closed a notice, so we don't show it again. This stays on your device.
- Fonts: our fonts are loaded from Google Fonts. This doesn't set cookies, but like any website request, Google can see your device's internet address.
- Door designer: the designer is provided by Palladio. We've switched off their tracking on our website.
- Staff login: our office system uses one essential cookie to keep staff logged in. It isn't used on the public website.
